This here section tells you a little about The Elusive Mayfly and the idiot genius behind it. Done in FAQ form because it's easy and I are lazy.

Will you archive my story?
Well, yes. That’s kind of the point of the site.

Where do I send it?
mayfly@vootie.net. If it’s over 50k in size, please send me a URL where it can be found.

Do I need to format it in a special way?
Send it to me how you want it to be archived. I might make a few minor corrections if necessary, but in general I will archive it as I receive it. Please remember that a lot of people still use a 600x800 resolution and just getting a larger monitor is not always an option.

What are the requirements?
The story needs to be Vash/Meryl in some way, shape or form. They can be lovers; they can be digging on each other but not together yet; they can be breaking up; they can just be really good friends. Their relationship does not have to be the only focus of the story, but it does need to be one aspect of it. (Example: A fic about rehabilitating Knives that has Vash and Meryl’s relationship as a subplot is perfectly fine; a fic about rehabilitating Knives that mentions that Vash and Meryl are a couple in one sentence but otherwise does not mention them at all would be more suited to another archive.

Does it have to be finished?
No. I archive works-in-progress.

What about lemons?
Lemons are accepted as long as they’re marked for adult content.

And Alternate Universes?
Yes; with one caveat. The characters must be somehow related to the original Trigun universe. An example of a well-done AU that still retains the characterization of the original is Lynda-chan’s “Gossamer Wings and Sweet-tasting Things.” A fic that stars the characters as high-schoolers has nothing in common with the anime other than the names and really isn’t fanfiction at all.

Songfics?
As long as there is more story than lyrics, I will archive songfics.

Why don’t you archive Wolfwood/Milly?
Because I like Vash/Meryl more and this archive is big enough as it is.

Hey, I still think my fic should be archived. Who decides whether it’s acceptable or not?
Me. I do the archiving. I pay for the webspace. A couple of people help me out, but maintaining this archive is still a lot of work. If I accepted everything, it would be huge and too unwieldy for one person to maintain. The goal of the site is to pack in as much VxM goodness as possible; however, there are a few guidelines. I don’t think following them is too much to ask. There’s always ffnet.

That said, if you submit a fic, I don’t archive it, and you still think it should be here, feel free to e-mail me and tell me why. I’m not an ogre; I welcome discussion.

What’s with this `Archivist’s Choice’ thing? Does it mean I suck if I don’t get it?
Not at all. There’s a lot of fic on this site that I just adore. The `Archivist’s Choice’ button is just my attempt to showcase what is, in my opinion, the best of the best. It’s not a competition.

Will you beta my fic?
No, but if you ask and I’m feeling especially generous I might look around and see if anyone would be willing to do so.

Do you archive doujinsh scans or fanart?
Yes and maybe, but the site is still new; give me a little bit to get it up and running and then I’ll open up submissions for pretty things.

Can I help with the site?
Maybe. I do most of it myself but if you really want to help out, e-mail me and we might be able to set something up.

Who are you, anyway?
I’m just a simple fan of Trigun and VxM who saw the need for a centralized Vash/Meryl archive and stupidly said “I can do that.” The rest is (a lot of carpal tunnel and) history.

Will you link to me?
Sure. Send me an address and a banner if you have one.
